The Arkansas Track Coaches Association sponsors an all-star team each year. Twenty-five boys and twenty-five girls are chosen to compete against Oklahoma in a cross country race. The winners from each of the four classifications are chosen, along with the next 16 best times on the day of the state meet. Three other athletes are selected at large.
The athletes are given a singlet with "Arkansas" on the front to run in at the all-star meet. They are allowed to keep the singlet. Regular scoring in cross country is used, except 9 runners are scored instead of 5.
